Pedigree profile of Rivendell Sinestro
D.O.B 21/09/2018 - Sheikh It (Imp Hann) x Concetto Famos (DK) x Mytenz xx
Sinestro is out of the mare Carla, who has also produced other great foals for the stud. His sire is the stallion ‘Sheikh it’ who was a premium Hanoverian stallion by Stolzenberg x Escudo I. As Stakkato, the sire of Stolzenberg, is at times not consistent in producing tall offspring, we have found the same using ‘Sheikh it’ semen here. Therefore, using Carla as a mare to ‘Sheikh it’ was done as she routinely produces tall offspring. Sinestro has not disappointed in this regard and is a beautiful, striking, tall dark bay colt. Sheikh it himself is currently competing successfully in the 1.45m classes in Europe.
Son of the legend in his own time, Stakkato, Stolzenberg made his performance test with outstanding results. Sire Stakkato is the most phenomenal show jumping sensation. Even at the time of his performance test in 1996 Stakkato showed amazing talent for jumping which is reflected in his score and first placing in the criteria. He is described as a medium framed stallion who had very good style over the jumps but he also received very good rideability marks.
Stakkato started his career in jumping at the same time that he began stud duties and he has never looked back. In an unusual move Celle sold 50% of this outstanding show jumper to the Bitter stables in Essen. With the renowned Eva-Maria Bitter in the saddle Stakkato became the unsurpassed winner of the Hanoverian riding horse championship at the Dobrock, as well as overriding federal champion in Warendorf. He scored the dream points of 9.9, which has never been done before. He has had a whole series of wins in show jumping competitions. In 1999 he took part in the Federal Championship, in which he became vice-champion. The duos tally of successes meanwhile includes international placements in Grand Prix and Nations Cups. In 2002 Stakkato led the FN breeding value statistics for showjumping for the second time running. He has showed himself to be not only an amazing show jumper but an extraordinary sire of show jumping progeny. His breeding value for jumping is a phenomenal.
Sandro also is a very pre-potent sire with many licensed sons, including Silvio 1 & 11, Sandrissimo, Sandro Song, Salido, Skorpio, Simply, Sundance Kid, Sandromit, Sandras, Sandros, Sandro Son, Sao Paulo etc. and appears prolifically in jumping pedigrees. Sandro is known as a modern foundation sire, and former international show jumper, which stood in Denmark until 1985 and then he came to Paul Schockemohles stud.
Stolzenberg became runner-up of the 2001 Hanoverian approval, and was declared the best showjumper of his age class. At his stallion performance test he came overall second, clearly winning the jumping index. Stolzenberg scored 8’s for character and temperament, willingness to perform, and conformation. He was given 7’s for trot, canter and walk. For natural jumping ability he gained 9, 9.5 for free jumping, 9 for jumping under saddle (including a 9.67 for jumping ability) and an incredible 10 for cross country. For rideability he scored 8.33. This young stallion is a jumping machine. He placed first in the jumping section of the performance test with a high 141.88. Victories and placements in jumper riding horse classes of elementary and medium level followed and in the meantime he is already competing at advanced level.
Since 2003 Stolzenberg has been in covering service at the Celle insemination station. His son Shaitaan OSF won the Vice Championship title at the Federal Championships of 5 year old show jumping horses in Warendorf in a final that went down to the wire! Under Lutz Wimmer the duo accomplished a fantastic season with various victories in elementary and medium level. A daughter was the brilliant winner at the Mare Show at Dobrock. State premium candidate Silence presented captivating performances and became best show jumping mare of the show. More than 30 Stolzenberg offspring were sold at the Verden auctions among them the mare Saltare who sold for Euro 130,000. 54 offspring are registered competition horses. It seems that Stoltzenberg follows in his sire’s footsteps in regards to passing on the qualities of technique, scope, movements and attitude to work to his offspring. Meanwhile all experts talk about Stolzenberg and his latest breed value estimation which confirms that it is justified that he counts among the 1% best jumper sires in Germany. He has 17 licensed stallions, 32 state premium mares, and 91 auction horses.
Sheikh it’s damsire is the stallion Escudo I. Sire of Escudo I, Espri, is a stallion with very special show jumping qualities. Another son, ET, ridden by Hugo Simon has won many international show jumping competitions and was a World Cup winner. Other top show jumpers are also sitting in the saddles of Espri descendants, including Lars Nieberg on Enrico, and Edgar, who won the World Breeding Championships for 7 year olds in Lanaken, Belgium in 1996. Dam is state premium mare Athene who also produced Escudo II who was Verden approvals champion in 1994, and the show jumper Erik, finalist in the Federal Championships of the German Riding Horse in 1996. The damsire Arkansas stems from the same line as the leading sire of show jumpers, Wanderer.
Champion of the 1994 Stallion Performance Test, Escudo I gained the highest jumping score. The phenomenal jumping ability was already discovered at the licensing in 1993, and after positive training and development, this black achieved in all other test criteria an evaluation also much above average. His is of outstanding type and expression, and well-muscled.
Escudo I’s ability was developed by Joachim Winter, enabling him to win show jumper horse competitions in series. In 1996 he was Hanoverian show jumping champion of the 5 year olds at the Dobrock tournament and equal federal vice champion in Warendorf with the Holstein horse Levantos II. In 1999 he was winner of several show jumping competitions at S level. Escudo himself managed the breakthrough into advanced class without a hitch, gaining numerous first placements.
Offspring of Escudo I are quite extraordinary with particularly good type and outstanding basic movements. His foals bring good money at auctions. He improves on his foals very much in riding type and in conformation. From his first crop Escudo I already presented 7 winning foals at regional foal shows. He has also presented numerous true to type candidates with strong movement for the Hanoverian foal auctions in Verden. In 1998 a daughter of his was the champion mare at the mare show in Schillerslage.
He has sired internationally top-class competition horses, among them: Enorm/Ludger Beerbaum, El Paso/Daniel Heuer, Escobar /Thomas Weinberg, and top-class futurity prospects, Echt Stark/Henrik von Eckermann (brong medal at the Federal Championships in 2009). He has 62 successfully competing advanced level offspring and an integrated breed value index which is very high. Winning sum of progeny Euro 3,100,243. Escudo I has 26 licensed sons, 104 state premium mares, and 206 auction horses. He is a tremendous improver in type conformation and jumping. He was Hanoverian Stallion of the Year in 2010.
Sinestro’s dam Carla was bought in 2006 as a two-year old in Germany as we were amazed by her elasticity, cadence and attitude at this age. She was inseminated using Quintender semen, but sadly did not produce a foal before leaving Germany. Once in RSA, she has been used as a broodmare, as well as having been backed. Due to the quality and temperament of her foals, she will continue to be used as a broodmare in the stud.
Sire Concetto Famos, was successful under Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum in Grand Prix, Nations Cups and the Hamburg Derby, Concetto Famos now impressively continues his career in the breeding sector.
Two of his sons have been licensed: the first in Westphalia who was sold for 100,000 Euros and the second, a premium stallion at the Southern German Hengsttage, who sold for 50,000 Euros.
Among Concetto's foals there were many show winners, also in 2008 at the shows in Donzdorf and Heiligenfeld. In 2004 a Concetto Famos filly took seventh place in the German Foal Championships in Lienen. Other offspring are now successful at medium (M*) level such as Concetto son/Hilmar Meyer, Cornetto/Joachim Heyer and the ribbon winning Bundeschampionat finalist, Con Palermo, who was one of the most expensive at the P.S.I. auction.
His Holsteiner sire Caletto I won team bronze at the 1983 EC in Hickstead/GBR under Dr. Michael Rüping. Among his 30 licensed sons you find Calvaro Z, Cambridge and Cantus.
His Danish bred dam, St.Pr.St. Sif, is a granddaughter of the trademark stallion Ramiro through Racot. In the third generation you find the Trakehner stallion Isländer who comes from the famous Isola Longa family.
Damsire Mytens xx, has recent;y become very popular and desireable in sporthorse breeding.
Mytens was born in the United States and sold to Britain as a yearling. He was very successful in training as a 2 year old and at the start of his 3 year old career until a tendon injury forced his retirement from racing. As a breeding stallion, in 1989/90 he was entered into the stallion competitions and was unique as the only Thoroughbred stallion to have completed all seven competitions including the finals.
Myten's sire Spectacular Bid xx won 26 of his 30 starts and as a 3 year old and was unbeaten in both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, but finished third in the Belmont Stakes, just missing victory in the world renowned Triple Crown. He later won the Marlboro and the Meadowlands Cup. He finished his career following an unbeaten season and 4 track records, claimed victory in the California's Strub series, and the Washington Park Handicap, set a career earnings record, and gained the prestigious title of Horse of the Year. As recognition of his overwhelming career he joined the Hall of Fame in 1982. His pedigree can be traced back via Bold Ruler to the legendary stallions Nasrullah and Nearco.
Mytens dam's sire Hoist the Flag is one of the more prestigious stallions in the United States.
In 1990 his first yearling fillies came up for inspection and Mytens fillies were successful at 3 provincial shows by taking the reserve champion. At the yearling show for Thoroughbreds, two Mytens colts gained a first premium, of which one was champion. Other successful offspring by Mytens include the 1999 winner of the German Young Event Championship; Magic Michael, currently competing at Prix St George and Harrison Himself, now competing in dressage at Prix St George and highly successful in combined dressage and jumping competitions. He stands at 8th place in the BHD rankings for his own winnings. In 2000 Mytens was the third placed sire for points earned by offspring in the hunter section on the NAWPN.
Mytens shows great technique and power that is successfully passed onto his progeny, along with his attractive conformation, stunning movement and jumping ability.
