Pedigree profile of Rivendell Frascati (Sold)

D.O.B.08/09/2019 - Rivendell Braveheart x For Joy (Hann) x Sabastian

Rivendell Frascati is the first offspring of Rivendell Braveheart, who is by the stallion Balou du Rouet, who is among the top ten sires for both show-jumping and eventing in the world.

Balou du Rouet is not only by far the most successful son of his famous sire, the Olympic champion and three-time World Cup winner Baloubet du Rouet, but has also long been among the top ten of the world's best jumper sires according to WBFSH. He is also one of the ten best eventing sires in the world. Balou du Rouet owes this record, set for two years and therefore unique in the world, to the large number of successful offspring he has produced, led by the individual World Championship and European Championship bronze medallist as well as World Cup ninth placed show-jumper Bianca/Steve Guerdat/SUI and the European Championship gold medallist and individual ninth placed eventer Billy the Red/Kristina Cook/GBR. Further guarantors of success are: Saura de Fondcombe/Nadja Peter Steiner/SUI, European Championship team bronze winner, Brilliant du Rouet/Liubov Kochetova/RUS, World Championship participant, Babalou/Darragh Kenny/IRL, placed fourth in Aachen as well as Balou Rubin R/Pius Schwizer/SUI, Balance/Toni Haßmann and Baloubet/Mario Stevens etc. For the athletes registered in Germany alone, the total prize money won is above 3.8 million euros.

The winner of the Grand Prix of Munich, Balve and Spangenberg, Balzaci/Felix Haßmann, followed by Baccord/Gerrit Nieberg and Balous Bellini/Lutz Gripshöver, stand out in sport among the almost 60 licensed sons of Balou du Rouet. From a breeding point of view, two more premium stallions, the OS Reserve Champion Mare Honey Star and the Reserve Champion Colt and Champion Colt of the Goldfever Ring at the German Foal Championships have recently been added to the list of his successful offspring.

Balou du Rouet started his own career with the final score of 9.2 at 30-day test in Vechta. After serial victories in young horse classes, he won the qualification round at the German Championships with a score of 9.2, came eighth in the final of the six-year-olds and won show-jumping competitions up to 3*.

His dam Georgia also produced Cornet’s Balou (by Cornet Obolensky), licensed stallion and German Champion, and Chatinue (by Chacco-Blue)/Patrick Döller, successful in 3* competitions.

The Oldenburg dam's sire Continue is also the dam's sire of Antello Z/Cameron Hanley/IRL, who took part in the World Championships and European Championships, Baloufina/Cian O'Connor/IRL and Camilla/Denis Lynch/IRL.

His grand-dam Georgette II also produced Sandrissimo (v. Sandro), licensed stallion and successful at advanced (S) level.

The sires Domino, Gepard and Granit, who appear in the earlier generations of Balou du Rouet’s pedigree, have had a lasting influence on the mare base of Paul Schockemöhle’s stud.

Braveheart’s dam, the imported premium mare Calvyra Z, was by the stallion Calvaro Z. Calvaro’s sire Caletto I, is famous for producing showjumpers. His mother Deka by Consul made breeding history as mother of five approved sons. Caletto I was one of the most successful horses in showjumping. Calvaro’s dam Rixa, is a daughter of one of the most famous stallions, Capitol I. He produced Grand Prix jumpers and approved stallions like, Carthago Z., Cento, Cassini I, Capriol, Indoctro, Cumano etc. In Calvaro’s dam lineage there is the influential Farnese son Fantus to a Hanoverian female line that carries the blood of Sesam II and Goldfisch II, one of the most influential bloodlines in Hannover.

The great damsire of Braveheart, is the well-known stallion Ramiro Z, who in a lifespan of thirty years as a sporthorse and breeding sire earned the titles 'Stallion of the Century' and "King of Sires."  His progeny can be described with one word: sublime. One of his daughters, the super-mare Ratina Z, is the dream of the show jumping world, winning double Olympic gold medals (1992 and 1996) at the Barcelona Olympics, and the World Cup of 1993. Ramiro still ranks number 16 on the 2003 World Breeding Federation jumping stallion rankings. He is arguably the most influential jumping stallion ever...

Calvyra Z is also the dam of Rivendell Sirandipity, Rivendell Numerology, Rivendell Champagne, Rivendell Cilantro and Rivendell Lamborghini.

Frascati’s dam is the mare Callaho Fil de Joie.  She is by the stallion For Joy by For Pleasure.  Sourced by the Hanoverian Verband on behalf of Callaho, For Joy is a son of the incomparable show jumper, For Pleasure (Furioso II), double Olympic team gold medalist and twice European team champion. The lifetime earnings of this superstar exceed 1.8 million Euros. For Joy’s mother, Donau (Don Carlos), is the product of an excellent dam line which has produced a number of licensed stallions, State Premium mares and advanced level jumpers.

For Joy acquitted himself with flair at his 100-day stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf. In a very strong class of 53 stallions, he outclassed the acclaimed stallions Goldfever and Calido to be placed third overall. He then went on to the final of the German Bundeschampionate. He was subsequently acquired by Jessica Kürten who campaigned him successfully on the international show-jumping circuit in Europe. Although sparingly used for breeding in Germany, he has had a phenomenal hit rate; of the 47 registered offspring with the FN, 6 are competing at S-level
(A-grade). For several years now, For Joy has consistently retained his ranking in the top 25 jumper sires of the Hanoverian Verband.

For Joy’s sire ‘For Pleasure’ is a two-time Olympic Gold Medal winner, World Champion & Hanoverian Stallion of the year in 2000. He was a member of the gold medal-winning German show jumping team at the1996 Atlanta Olympics, and named German horse of the year in 1995. For Pleasure was ridden for the German team so successfully by Lars Nieberg and more recently by Marcus Ehning. He is one of the most sought after sires in Germany. His two Olympic team gold medals (Altanta and Sydney) make him one of the most successful currently competing breeding stallions. His sire, Furioso II, is considered one of the most influential sport horse sires in the world.  Furioso II, in 1989, was the top sire in Germany based on money earned by his get.   His bloodlines can be found  in almost all recognized international studbooks in Europe. For Pleasure's damsire, Grannus' offspring are successful showjumpers around the globe. The black Anglo Arab Matcho was the winner of the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf in 1992 and has since founded his own stallion line in the Hanoverian breed.
