D.O.B 30/10/2015 – Lissabon (Imp Old) x Calvaro Z (Holst) x Ramiro Z
Lamborghini is by he imported stallion Lissabon and out of StPrSt Calvyra Z.
Lissabon’s father, Lordanos, continues to entrench himself as one of the finest sires of show-jumpers in Europe, having already produced more than 23 licensed sons and scores of champions at all levels. His damsire Sion is a remarkable all-rounder who passes on plenty of “blood” and excellent gaits. The granddam Reinata (by Contender) is a full sister to the international competition mare Charisma (Markus Fuchs). This performance dam-line is further anchored by jumper breeding legends, Grannus and Siegesmund.
After his approval, Lissabon won both sections of his stallion performance test in Oldenburg. Trained by Heinrich Döwe, in 2003 he won 8 out of his 9 classes for young riding horses, including the prestigious Damhus Cup. During his 5th and 6th year he was a serial winner up to M-level and won the Damhus Cup again. Thereafter Lissabon went to the Bundeschampionate Finals with Johannes Ehning, where he received outstanding scores of up to 9.3 for style. During 2006/2007 he continued his stellar career with Jens Baackmann, crowning 2007 with a victory in Vechta in the youngster tour (1.5m).
Lissabon’s short breeding record in Germany is equally remarkable. In addition to multiple champion foals and state premium mares, he produced four licensed sons of which Lissacor (Westphalia) and Lissaro van der Helle (Hannover) were awarded Premium. In 2010 Lissaro rewrote history by winning his third consecutive gold medal at the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf as well as being runner-up at the World Dressage Championships for Young Horses in Verden. During his brief tenure as a breeding stallion in Germany, statistics based on progeny generated by their National Federation reveal that he was was placed well within the top 1% of all jumper sires, and remarkably, also within the top 10% of Dressage stallions. His combined score objectively affirmed his placing as the best dual-purpose sire of Warmblood stallions across all studbooks in Germany.
Here in South Africa, after having served his sixth consecutive breeding season, this magnificent stallion has proven himself, beyond any shadow of a doubt, to be a sire of Warmblood sport-horses in a class of his very own.
Calvyra is by the stallion Calvaro Z. Calvaro’s sire Caletto I, is famous for producing showjumpers. His mother Deka by Consul made breeding history as mother of five approved sons. Caletto I was one of the most successful horses in showjumping. Calvaro’s dam Rixa, is a daughter of one of the most famous stallions, Capitol I. He produced Grand Prix jumpers and approved stallions like, Carthago Z., Cento, Cassini I, Capriol, Indoctro, Cumano etc. In Calvaro’s dam lineage there is the influential Farnese son Fantus to a Hanoverian female line that carries the blood of Sesam II and Goldfisch II, one of the most influential bloodlines in Hannover.
The great damsire of Lamborghini, is the well-known stallion Ramiro Z, who in a lifespan of thirty years as a sporthorse and breeding sire earned the titles ‘Stallion of the Century’ and “King of Sires.” His progeny can be described with one word: sublime. One of his daughters, the super-mare Ratina Z, is the dream of the show jumping world, winning double Olympic gold medals (1992 and 1996) at the Barcelona Olympics, and the World Cup of 1993. Ramiro still ranks number 16 on the 2003 World Breeding Federation jumping stallion rankings. He is arguably the most influential jumping stallion ever…
Calvyra Z is also the dam of Rivendell Sirandipity, Rivendell Numerology, Rivendell Champagne, Rivendell Cilantro and Rivendell Braveheart.
