International
Breeding horses with international pedigrees and potential in South Africa can be frustrating at times, as we are not easily able to compare our horses with the rest of the world. This is mainly due to African Horse Sickness and export quarantine protocols. This makes it an extremely expensive and lengthy exercise to export a horse to Europe. Several horses bred at Rivendell have elicited international interest, but due to logistics these could not happen.
However, at this point in time, by the end of 2022, Rivendell has three horses outside SA borders. Two stallions are competing at open levels in Ireland, and a pony gelding is in Kenya. Hopefully export will get easier soon and more horses bred at Rivendell will be seen in Europe. Any breeders dream come true.

Rivendell Dickens
