Rivendell Stud and its entire operation left Farm France in the Banhoek Valley and moved across to the Paardeberg near Paarl in September 2023. A former thoroughbred stud for producing racehorses, meant that some facilities were already present but needed to be adjusted for Warmblood breeding and production purposes.

Lothlórien Farm consists of three stable blocks, with different functions and stable sizes.

The main barn has a total of 34 stables and hosts horses in training as well as barren mares. Two tack rooms, a wash bay and two tacking up areas complete the building.

The top barn is the stable which consists of nine stallion stables as well as ten extra large foaling boxes, each 25sqm in size.

The bottom barn has five large foaling boxes as well as a hospital and stocks area. It comprises a large feedroom. The best part of this building is that it comprises a large area which hosts my phantom and equine reproductive laboratory. Having the phantom indoors has been a game changer for the stallions.

The farm is 64ha and comprises large paddocks with irrigation, making it an ideal area to produce young horses.

For training purposes, we have an indoor arena of 75m x 28m, with irrigated clopf fiber footing.

We also have a sand outdoor arena measuring 2500sqm used for young horses and as a warm up arena.

As a future plan, a large outdoor arena has been prepared, measuring 95m x 50m (4750sqm). Once the funds are available, this arena will get a proper drainage system, an underground irrigation system as well as clopf fiber before being usable as a top competition venue.
