Rivendell Dior
Rivendell Dior
D.O.B. 14/11/2021 – Diamonit × Dageraad Britta (Lingh × Osmium)
Rivendell Dior is an exceptional young dressage stallion prospect, bred from generations of proven international performance blood. Combining outstanding natural paces with exceptional rideability, Dior has been retained by Rivendell Stud with the ambition of developing him both as a top-level competition horse and, in time, as a breeding stallion.
His pedigree brings together some of the most influential German and Dutch dressage bloodlines, combining Diamond Hit, Don Schufro and Donnerhall on his sire line with Lingh, Osmium and Olympic Ferro through his dam.
Dior is by Diamonit, the premium Oldenburg stallion by Diamond Hit out of Francesca, by Santander.
Diamonit distinguished himself from an early age through his exceptional movement and rideability. He received scores of up to 9.75 in his 30-day performance test and became Oldenburg Regional Champion. His pedigree combines some of the most established dressage bloodlines in German breeding.
Diamonit’s sire, Diamond Hit, was himself a successful Grand Prix dressage horse. Diamond Hit is by the legendary Don Schufro, bringing the enormously influential Donnerhall line into Dior’s pedigree.
The strength of Diamonit’s maternal family is equally significant. His dam Francesca has established herself as an outstanding producer of upper-level dressage horses, while her sire Santander combines the blood of Sandro and Contender.
Through Diamonit, Dior therefore inherits not only exceptional dressage ancestry, but a family with demonstrated ability to produce both breeding stallions and Grand Prix horses.
Dam — Dageraad Britta
Dior’s dam, Dageraad Britta, is a KWPN-bred mare by Lingh, out of an Osmium mare.
Britta has proven herself an important broodmare for Rivendell Stud, consistently producing quality dressage horses. Her pedigree contributes some of the strongest performance blood of Dutch dressage breeding and makes the maternal side of Dior’s pedigree particularly valuable.
Her sire Lingh, by Flemmingh, enjoyed an outstanding international Grand Prix career with Edward Gal. The combination achieved major international success, including the Dutch National Grand Prix Championship and second place at the FEI World Cup Final in Las Vegas. Lingh subsequently established himself as a sire of international dressage horses.
Britta’s damsire Osmium adds another highly regarded Dutch performance line. Osmium excelled in performance testing and young-horse competition, including victory in the Pavo Cup. He is a son of the legendary Olympic Ferro, one of the foundation stallions of modern Dutch dressage breeding.
This gives Dior a maternal performance line of:
Lingh – Flemmingh
× Osmium – Olympic Ferro
A Pedigree Bred for Performance
Dior represents a deliberate concentration of proven dressage performance blood:
Diamonit – Diamond Hit – Don Schufro – Donnerhall
×
Dageraad Britta – Lingh – Flemmingh
×
Osmium – Olympic Ferro
It is a pedigree in which influential breeding stallions are reinforced by horses that proved themselves in performance sport.
Dior himself is developing with the qualities we hoped this pedigree would produce. He combines exceptional paces with exceptional rideability, together with the presence and athleticism expected of a future dressage stallion.
At Rivendell Stud, his long-term development is being approached with his sporting career foremost in mind. The objective is to allow Dior the time to develop his strength, balance and ability for collection while preserving his natural willingness and quality of movement.
Our ambition for Rivendell Dior is clear: to develop him toward the highest levels of dressage and, through his own performance and development, earn his place as a future breeding stallion for Rivendell Stud.
