Rivendell’s Sissy von Nymphenburg
Pedigree profile of Sissy von Nymphenburg
Sissy is an imported filly by the stallion Sezuan. She is a bay, who looks quite ordinary, until she starts moving…
The tall, dark and handsome stallion Sezuan is now a double world champion after taking out the six-year-old title at the World Breeding Championships for Sport Horses at Verden, following up from his five-year-old win in 2014.
Judges awarded the Danish stallion two 10s, and rider Dorothee Schneider was almost speechless after their success. “I have almost no words to describe it,”she said, “but I am very happy and delighted.”
The win by the Zack / Don Schufro stallion was another victory for the Danish Warmblood Association at Verden, where Danish horses won three of six medals.
Sezuan earned highest scores for his canter and overall impression – his trot earned 9.7 and his submissiveness 9.8, the walk 9.1.
Sezuan, who was bred by Linette Jaeger, is owned by Prof. Edwin Kohl and Arlette Jasper-Kohl at Gestüt Peterhof in Perl-Borg in the south-west of Germany.
Schneider said plans were to carefully Sezuan’s career. “And then maybe the Nuremberg Cup, we will see. There is no doubt, he is certainly a horse for the big tour.”
Sezuan – a World Champion! With a score of 10.0 for his canter – the highest score that can be given, 9.6 for his wonderfully elastic trot as well as his magnificent, ground-covering walk, 9.9 for his outstanding dressage ability and 9.7 for his remarkable suppleness, there was no doubt that Sezuan deserved under Dorothee Schneider the crown in the class for five-year old dressage horses at the 2014 World Championships.
After a landslide victory in the qualifier as well, this feat only underlined his absolutely unique position. Ever since he was licensed in Denmark in 2012, Sezuan is the most talked about stallion in the world.
The pedigree of his sire, Blue Hors Zack, combines extremely valuable bloodlines through Rousseau, Jazz and Belisar and he was a Champion Stallion not only in the Netherland but also in Denmark. In 2010 he qualified for the National Danish Championships with a score of 9.22. His offspring make him omnipresent: at the Danish licensing in 2013 he was again the sire of the Champion Stallion after his son Zorba Højris had triumphed the year before, in Herning in 2012. His daughters dominate Elite Broodmare Shows everywhere.
Sezuan‘s dam, Bøgegårdens Don Romina, is a gold medal mare who also took the Mare of the Year title in Denmark.
The dam’s sire, Blue Hors Don Schufro, is a son of Donnerhall, a stallion who still strongly influences what goes on in dressage. He won team bronze under Andreas Helgstrand with the Danish team at the Olympic Games in Hongkong.
Sezuans granddam, BøgegårdensLaina, is a bronze medal mare.
Sezuan passed his stallion performance test in 2012 in Denmark with scores never awarded before: He was actually given the highest possible score of 10.0 ten times!
In 2013 Sezuan continued his victory march and became the Danish Champion Stallion with 10.0 for his walk and canter and 9.5 for his trot.
Following this, he went on to become the best four-year old dressage horse in Denmark at the competitionin Odense. Here he was again awarded the dream score of 10.0 for his trot, canter and willingness to perform and 8.9 for his walk. With a total of 9.68, the title was rightfully his.
Sezuan was the 2013 Danish Warmblood Stallion Champion and the winner of Aage Ravn’s trophy for best Danish-bred dressage stallion.
Unrivalled winner of the material test with 987.50 points. Sezuan made history when he obtained a record breaking result of 10 x 10.00, thus meeting the high expectations of him. Already as a 3-year-old stallion, he won many European dressage experts’ hearts with his outstanding gaits and high rideability, and as a result he became one of Europe’s most popular young stallions.
In recent years, his sire Zack has proven his value as a breeding stallion with several approved sons. Sezuan’s dam, Bøgegårdens Don Romina (by the world-famous Don Schufro who won OL-bronze under Andreas Helgstrand as part of the Danish national team) received the Danish Warmblood’s breeder gold medal and was nominated best dressage mare of the year in 2006. Sezuan’s grand dam is the bronze medal mare Bøgegårdens Laina. Breeding is not a coincidence and we are looking very much forward to Sezuan’s first offspring.
Sezuan…. well, he can’t walk on water, but almost!!
Sezuan’s foals are eye-catchers with their long legs and excessive movement standard, giving good reason for the highest hopes. And it’s no surprise that they dominate at shows and auctions here in Germany as well as abroad. The Danish Champion Colt Strandagergards Sirocco achieved a new sales record with his price tag of nearly 74,000 Euro.
Sissy’s dam is a State premium mare by Don Gregory. She herself competed up to Prix St Georg level successfully, before retiring to stud.
Don Gregory unites the inherited values of DLG champion, Donnerhall, with Graphit bloodlines in an exemplary manner. The dam, Granate, also produced two other approved stallions, Playboy and Don Graphit. The great granddam, Heimat, was a successful Grand Prix horse. Don Gregory was highly successful under Martina Hann ver, winning or placing up to Grand Prix free style.
Don Gregory is also a model of quality of movement, rideability values, and offspring that satisfied even the most demanding, Don Gregory regularly supplies top horses to the auctions in Vechta, among others the approved stallion Day Dream (DM 360,000), the 1996 winner of the stallion performance test in Medingen, Don Rubino. (DM 235,000), approved Don Dario Fo (DM 151,000) or Dark Dream (DM 130,000). The latter became the 1998 Reserve Champion Mare in Rastede.
In 2000, Don Gregory’s striking black son, Davidoff E, out of a Rubinstein dam, became the brilliant German Champion of three year old stallions and won the approval in Oldenburg. His son Don Davidoff became world champion at the 2002 World Championship for Young Horses, with a score of 10 for rideability. Daughter Donna Gina, was Devon/USA – champion mare of the Oldenburg Horse Breeders’ Society.
