D.O.B 02/12/2023
Rivendell Eureka is our first filly our stallion Rivendell Lamborghini, who at eight years of age is competing in the 1.40m GP’s with rider Nicola Sime-Riley. Her dam, the imported Hanoverian mare Elucada, makes her even more special as she has such consolidated proven performance breeding in her pedigree. Therefore, the plan at present is that Eureka will be retained.
Lamborghini is the son of the stallion Lissabon and out of the premium mare Calvyra Z x Calvaro Z. Lamborghini is the half brother on the dam side to open showjumpers Rivendell Numerology, Rivendell Champagne and Rivendell Braveheart. Lamborghini was her last foal.
As a young horse in Germany, Lissabon won both sections of his Stallion Performance Test in Oldenburg. Multiple style-class winner, he received the dream score of 9.3 for his jumping style at the Bundeschampionate Finals with Johannes Ehning. During his short breeding career in Germany, in addition to scores of champion foals and state premium mares, he produced six licensed sons of which Lissaro van der Helle rewrote history after winning three consecutive Bundeschampionate Gold medals.
After progressing to the 1.50m classes as a serial winner, he was imported in 2008. It was here in South Africa with Callaho broodmares that his reputation as a legendary progenitor was truly cemented with reams of progeny now revealing exceptional promise in the open classes, including the big 1.50m tracks. Indomitable at the top of the SASJ Sire Rankings, this magnificent stallion has proven himself, beyond any shadow of a doubt, to be a sire of Warmblood sport horses in a class of his very own.
Lordanos, sire of Lissabon, is an amazing foundation sire. His successful offspring drew attention to this great stallion. In 2013 he was named the top jumper’s sire in the USA by the USEF.
His career began by winning nearly 40 competitions for young showjumpers, where after he was successful at the 1.40m and 1.50m classes for an incredible eleven years. He also competed in the Puissance class, successfully clearing a 2 meter high wall.
Lordanos has an unparalleled character, extraordinary rideability and is an extremely talented show-jumper. He has produced avery large number of incredibly successful offspring and is regarded as one of the greatest sires in the world.
He is a descendent of the famous and high profile Ramiro line 776 and a guarantee for maximum heritability for performance and ability. His sire being Landos, one of the sons of the famous stallion Lord. On the dam side of Landos we find Calypso I and Capitano. The dam sire Ahorn Z originates from the international showjumpers Alme Z and Heureka Z, and has produced many top show jumping horses.
In the third generation we find Calypso I, the sire of some of the world’s top dressage and show jumping horses. The blood of the top stallion Cottage Son xx is also very dominant in the pedigree of Lordanos. Lordanos’s sire Landos, and his dam, Ashley, both come from the Holstein dam line 776. This line produced top sport horses and the stallions Calvados I and II, Cortino I and II, Captain Incipit, Lord Incipit, Lauritz J, Rossini, Toledo and the famous and important sire Ramiro.
The sire of Calvyra Z, was no other than the legendary Calvaro Z himself, who was ridden by three of the World’s greatest show jumpers Jos Lansink, Johan and Michael Whitaker, with such success that he is worthy of being added to the list of World Class stallions. His progeny have become extremely popular based on the successes of his offspring as well as their own offspring in future generations. They are known to demonstrate brave attitude, carefulness and ability to perform at the highest levels.
Due to his own showjumping commitments, Calvaro Z himself started his stud career late. However, in his first season at Zangersheide, he produced 232 foals and in his second season 246. His progeny are known by tremendous canters and a very powerful jump, which placed him in the top 10 rankings of the WBFSH sire rankings during his time with an exceptionally high ratio of sons and daughters consistently jumping in the 1.60m tracks.
Calvaro’s sire was Caletto I, who also featured in the top 10 sire rankings of the WBFSH. His dam Deka by Consul, made breeding history of her own by producing five approved sons. Caletto I was one of the most successful horses in sport, ridden by Michael Rupling. He jumped at international level with his greatest achievement being winning the individual bronze at the 1982 Dublin World Championships, after his show-jumping career of five years, the son of Cor de la Bryere had won more than 100 000 DM, more than any other German breeding stallion before him at that time.
Eureka’s dam, Elucada, was herself successful up to 1.40m level showjumping before retiring to stud. I bought her on the Callaho auction and am very pleased that I did, also if just to have a filly such as Eureka. Elucada is by the stallion Escudo I.
Escudo I was one of the best German stallions on the breed value rankings for years. His FN breed value in the 2016 Hanoverian Stallion book is 145 for jumping, and 86 for dressage. He has a Hanoverian breed value estimation of 135 points for show jumping and 136 for riding horse points and type. His dressage breeding value is a negative 65.
Escudo I was the 2009 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year. He was the winner of his stallion performance test in 1994 and achieved a convincing 144.90 points in the jumping category. He was a son of the Celle State stallion Espri, who is known worldwide for producing outstanding jumping horses, such as “E.T.”
Escudo I exhibited phenomenal jumping talent at testing. He won the 1996 Hanoverian Show Jumping Championships in Dobrok in 1996, and the six-year-old Jumper Champion title in 1997. He was also the winner of several show jumping competitions at “S” level in 1999.
Escudo I was outstanding in type and expression, well-muscled with excellent paces. Escudo I produced convincing crops of foals, including several winning foals at regional foal shows and the top price foal of the Verden Spring Auction in 1998. He has a show jumping breed value index of 151 points and 145 for riding horse points. He sires horses with excellent type and a fighting spirit for jumping.
Escudo carried the name of an antique Spanish gold coin and followed in the footsteps of his father Espri and his grandfather Eiger I. Celle state stud stallion Escudo I was crowned Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2009.
The handsome black stallion was born on Allmer Knoop’s farm on May 23, 1991. Heinz Katt from Bremervoerde raised Escudo I and presented him at the Stallion Licensing in Verden in 1993 where he already displayed his talent. He shone over the jumps and was one of the Lot I-stallions that moved to the Celle State Stud.
One year later, he was the champion at the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf with a jumping score of 144.9 points and was honoured with the Freiherr von Stenglin-Prize as best stallion of his age-group. Since that time, he was registered with the Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program.
Farmer Allmer Knoop purchased Escudo’s dam, state premium mare Athene by Arkansas/Woermann, at the age of two. She derives from the dam line of Notrada that originated in 1899 on the farm of the Battelmann family in Nesse. The bay mare was very successful at shows, including the prestigious Louis Wiegels-Show.
Escudo’s younger full brother Escudo II was the winner at the Stallion Licensing in 1994 but was not as successful as his older brother as a sire.
Apart from his breeding career, Escudo I was also a successful competition horse. He won the Hanoverian Show Jumping Championships at Dobrock under Joachim Winter in 1996, and he became Vice Bundeschampion in Warendorf, followed by various successes up to advanced level.
Escudo I passes on his show jumping scope and brilliant type to his offspring.
As of the 2021 Hanoverian Stallion book, he has produced 766 competitors with winnings of €3,445,289. 181 of them were dressage horses, with five going to S level. There have been 698 jumpers with 130 S level, and 38 eventers.
Escudo I has been one of the best German stallions on the breed value rankings for years.
On the 2021 FN values he scores 131 for young jumpers and 125 on the new highest level achieved rankings. 87 for young dressage horses, and 69 for highest level achieved. His 2021 Hanoverian value for dressage is 60, but 136 for jumping, and 127 for type.
450 Escudo I-daughters are registered with the Hanoverian Society, 104 of them awarded state premium mare status.
He has 26 licensed sons. The Celle state stud stallions Earl and El Bundy won their stallion performance tests, just like their sire, and Embassy I is one of the most popular Hanoverian show jumping stallions.
Escudo I continues the old Hanoverian E-bloodline with his prepotency, and he was of tremendous importance for the modern jumper horse breed.
Elucada’s dam sire is no other than the stallion Ramiro Z who is famous worldwide and is duly called the “Euro-stallion” of his day. “Preferent” Ramiro descends from the famous male lineage combination Raimond-Ramzes X – Rittersporn XX. The anglo-arabian Ramzes represents one of the basic bloodlines on which Holsteiner breeding has been founded. Ramzes gave a new dimension to sport horse breeding.
Ramiro’s dam is Valine, who aquired international fame as a show jumper by the name of Corrale under Lutz Gossing. She was a daughter of the reputable thoroughbred Cottage Son XX, who became famous through his son Consul, sire of the influential progenitors Joost and Codex. Ramiro’s dam is from lineage 776,
one of the most valuable Holsteiner female bloodlines going back to Achill and Edelbert.
In 1969 Ramiro was the absolute top stallion of his performance year and was used not only for breeding but also successfully developed a jumping career under Fritz Ligges. He excelled in his puissance performances (up to 2.20 m) as well as in competition where speed was essential. Ramiro moved to Studbook Zangersheide in 1979 and came to the Netherlands two years later. On the basis of his breeding efforts that earned him worldwide fame, he was declared Horse of the Year at Jumping Amsterdam in 1992. Ramiro is still at the top of the indexes in both jumping and dressage for many breed organizations today even though he passed away some years ago.
His progeny can be described with one word: sublime. He supplied a large number of stallions approved in the Netherlands and abroad as well as an impressive series of fantastic sport horses. In the Netherlands his sons Almiro, Armstrong, Bernstein, Dageraad, Damiro, Elmero and Zeoliet have all achieved fame. His daughter, the super-mare Ratina Z, is the dream of the showjumping world, winning both gold and silver at the Barcelona Olympics and the Volvo World Cup of 1993. His progeny distinguish themselves in dressage as well.
