Rivendell Bajoor
D.O.B 12/12/2024 – Rivendell Braveheart (Balou du Roue x Calvaro Z) x Elucada (Escudo I x Ramiro Z)
Rivendell Bajoor will most probably be the last offspring of the imported mare Elucada, as she is already in her twenties. Bajoor is by our own stallion who has competed up to 1.35m and is by Balou du Rouet out of a mare by Calvaro Z.
Balou du Rouet, who is among the top ten sires for both show-jumping and eventing in the world. Rivendell Braveheart is currently being produced by Nicola Sime-Riley who is very excited about him. Carrera will go into work after she has weaned this foal and be produced as a showjumper. This is one of the first foals where the sire and the dam are both Rivendell bred horses, and it is so exciting to see such an awesome foal born.
Balou du Rouet is not only by far the most successful son of his famous sire, the Olympic champion and three-time World Cup winner Baloubet du Rouet, but has also long been among the top ten of the world’s best jumper sires according to WBFSH. He is also one of the ten best eventing sires in the world. Balou du Rouet owes this record, set for two years and therefore unique in the world, to the large number of successful offspring he has produced, led by the individual World Championship and European Championship bronze medallist as well as World Cup ninth placed show-jumper Bianca/Steve Guerdat/SUI and the European Championship gold medallist and individual ninth placed eventer Billy the Red/Kristina Cook/GBR. Further guarantors of success are: Saura de Fondcombe/Nadja Peter Steiner/SUI, European Championship team bronze winner, Brilliant du Rouet/Liubov Kochetova/RUS, World Championship participant, Babalou/Darragh Kenny/IRL, placed fourth in Aachen as well as Balou Rubin R/Pius Schwizer/SUI, Balance/Toni Haßmann and Baloubet/Mario Stevens etc. For the athletes registered in Germany alone, the total prize money won is above 3.8 million euros.
The winner of the Grand Prix of Munich, Balve and Spangenberg, Balzaci/Felix Haßmann, followed by Baccord/Gerrit Nieberg and Balous Bellini/Lutz Gripshöver, stand out in sport among the almost 60 licensed sons of Balou du Rouet. From a breeding point of view, two more premium stallions, the OS Reserve Champion Mare Honey Star and the Reserve Champion Colt and Champion Colt of the Goldfever Ring at the German Foal Championships have recently been added to the list of his successful offspring.
Balou du Rouet started his own career with the final score of 9.2 at 30-day test in Vechta. After serial victories in young horse classes, he won the qualification round at the German Championships with a score of 9.2, came eighth in the final of the six-year-olds and won show-jumping competitions up to 3*.
His dam Georgia also produced Cornet’s Balou (by Cornet Obolensky), licensed stallion and German Champion, and Chatinue (by Chacco-Blue)/Patrick Döller, successful in 3* competitions.
The Oldenburg dam’s sire Continue is also the dam’s sire of Antello Z/Cameron Hanley/IRL, who took part in the World Championships and European Championships, Baloufina/Cian O’Connor/IRL and Camilla/Denis Lynch/IRL.
His grand-dam Georgette II also produced Sandrissimo (v. Sandro), licensed stallion and successful at advanced (S) level.
The sires Domino, Gepard and Granit, who appear in the earlier generations of Balou du Rouet’s pedigree, have had a lasting influence on the mare base of Paul Schockemöhle’s stud.
Braveheart’s dam, the imported premium mare Calvyra Z, was by the stallion Calvaro Z. Calvaro’s sire Caletto I, is famous for producing showjumpers. His mother Deka by Consul made breeding history as mother of five approved sons. Caletto I was one of the most successful horses in showjumping. Calvaro’s dam Rixa, is a daughter of one of the most famous stallions, Capitol I. He produced Grand Prix jumpers and approved stallions like, Carthago Z., Cento, Cassini I, Capriol, Indoctro, Cumano etc. In Calvaro’s dam lineage there is the influential Farnese son Fantus to a Hanoverian female line that carries the blood of Sesam II and Goldfisch II, one of the most influential bloodlines in Hannover.
The great damsire of Braveheart, is the well-known stallion Ramiro Z, who in a lifespan of thirty years as a sporthorse and breeding sire earned the titles ‘Stallion of the Century’ and “King of Sires.” His progeny can be described with one word: sublime. One of his daughters, the super-mare Ratina Z, is the dream of the show jumping world, winning double Olympic gold medals (1992 and 1996) at the Barcelona Olympics, and the World Cup of 1993. Ramiro still ranks number 16 on the 2003 World Breeding Federation jumping stallion rankings. He is arguably the most influential jumping stallion ever…

Escudo carried the name of an antique Spanish gold coin and followed in the footsteps of his father Espri and his grandfather Eiger I. Celle state stud stallion Escudo I was crowned Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2009.
The handsome black stallion was born on Allmer Knoop’s farm on May 23, 1991. Heinz Katt from Bremervoerde raised Escudo I and presented him at the Stallion Licensing in Verden in 1993 where he already displayed his talent. He shone over the jumps and was one of the Lot I-stallions that moved to the Celle State Stud.
One year later, he was the champion at the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf with a jumping score of 144.9 points and was honoured with the Freiherr von Stenglin-Prize as best stallion of his age-group. Since that time, he was registered with the Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program.
Farmer Allmer Knoop purchased Escudo’s dam, state premium mare Athene by Arkansas/Woermann, at the age of two. She derives from the dam line of Notrada that originated in 1899 on the farm of the Battelmann family in Nesse. The bay mare was very successful at shows, including the prestigious Louis Wiegels-Show.
Escudo’s younger full brother Escudo II was the winner at the Stallion Licensing in 1994 but was not as successful as his older brother as a sire.
Apart from his breeding career, Escudo I was also a successful competition horse. He won the Hanoverian Show Jumping Championships at Dobrock under Joachim Winter in 1996, and he became Vice Bundeschampion in Warendorf, followed by various successes up to advanced level.
Escudo I passes on his show jumping scope and brilliant type to his offspring.

Escudo I continues the old Hanoverian E-bloodline with his prepotency, and he was of tremendous importance for the modern jumper horse breed.
Elucada’s dam sire is no other than the stallion Ramiro Z who is famous worldwide and is duly called the “Euro-stallion” of his day. “Preferent” Ramiro descends from the famous male lineage combination Raimond-Ramzes X – Rittersporn XX. The anglo-arabian Ramzes represents one of the basic bloodlines on which Holsteiner breeding has been founded. Ramzes gave a new dimension to sport horse breeding.
Ramiro’s dam is Valine, who aquired international fame as a show jumper by the name of Corrale under Lutz Gossing. She was a daughter of the reputable thoroughbred Cottage Son XX, who became famous through his son Consul, sire of the influential progenitors Joost and Codex. Ramiro’s dam is from lineage 776, one of the most valuable Holsteiner female bloodlines going back to Achill and Edelbert.
In 1969 Ramiro was the absolute top stallion of his performance year and was used not only for breeding but also successfully developed a jumping career under Fritz Ligges. He excelled in his puissance performances (up to 2.20 m) as well as in competition where speed was essential. Ramiro moved to Studbook Zangersheide in 1979 and came to the Netherlands two years later. On the basis of his breeding efforts that earned him worldwide fame, he was declared Horse of the Year at Jumping Amsterdam in 1992. Ramiro is still at the top of the indexes in both jumping and dressage for many breed organizations today even though he passed away some years ago.
His progeny can be described with one word: sublime. He supplied a large number of stallions approved in the Netherlands and abroad as well as an impressive series of fantastic sport horses. In the Netherlands his sons Almiro, Armstrong, Bernstein, Dageraad, Damiro, Elmero and Zeoliet have all achieved fame. His daughter, the super-mare Ratina Z, is the dream of the showjumping world, winning both gold and silver at the Barcelona Olympics and the Volvo World Cup of 1993. His progeny distinguish themselves in dressage as well.
