D.O.B.  02/11/2024 – Finnick (Finnigan x Don Index) x Quintet (Quarterback x Wolkentanz)

Fame is the first offspring of our young imported Hannoverian stallion Finnick, who is by the stallion Finnigan.

Finnigan is a stunning liver chestnut Hanoverian stallion sired by Floriscount. Floriscount himself is very popular with regards to both breeding and sport, he has competed very successful in dressage competitions to the Grand Prix level with his rider Oliver Oelrich and has the breeding value in dressage of 151. Through his dam line Finnigan brings the top blood, as well as highly sought after blood of the International Grand Prix stallion and top sire Don Schufro, along with one of our all time favourites Rubinstein, and a splash of TB blood! Very successful descendants, such as Wilander-Star (by Wanderkönig), Wasco (by Waltdisney) and Lucrosus (by Lemon xx), also come from the mare line of Nada.

Finnigan himself fascinated the crowd at his Verden licensing with his outstanding gaits! He then went on to win his 2016 14 day test with the high score of 8.96 for dressage, and a respectable 7.23 for showjumping, total 8.35.some highlights include 10,0 character/temperament, 9.5 for rideability, 9.25 outside rider, 9.0 for his trot, 9.0 walk, 8.5 canter.

At his 2018 Sports Test Finnigan again showed his beautiful gaits, rideability and ability scored 8.44.

In 2019 Finnigan was awarded the Weltmeyer Prize as one of Hanover’s best young dressage stallions!!

Finnigan is a tall leggy correct stallion with beautiful type, combined with 3 excellent elastic gaits, he also clearly shows a high level of rideablity and an excellent work ethic. All qualities highly sought after by breeders.

Finnigan has been widely used by hanoverian breeders, and his offspring are proving to be consistently of very good quality, showing excellent gaits, good type, and minds. In 2020 Finnigan had his first licensed stallion son. He has already numerous foals have won foal shows, been selected for auctions, he has had sons selected for the licensing, his oldest (2017) are just starting their under saddle careers and are showing a lot of promise, already several have been selected for auctions as well. We know in the next several year we are going to see his offspring excel in the show ring as well as the breeding as they mature. This is a stallion for the future

Finnick’s dam, a state premium mare, is by the stallion Don Index. Don Index, the Champion of the 2010 Stallion Performance Test in Adelheidsdorf, is a model example of performance potential. This noble, ground covering, young stallion presented himself from the beginning of his performance test as a true winning type. Always endowed with

the right attitude, he is convincing with his intelligence and eagerness to work. These elements are what enabled the black stallion to win both the performance test dressage and overall indexes, and the title of Premium Stallion.

From his sire, Don Crusador, who was successful up to S Level and full of breeding success stories himself, you find the appropriate portion of refinement from Lauries Crusador xx which is responsible for the noble finish and beautiful type of Don Index. Success is also promised through Don Index’s damline. He stems from the line of Jahde from the year 1885. Many successful advanced S Level horses have come out of this line. The most well known representative in international sport is Weyden who, under Sven Rothenberger, was the 1996 Olympic silver medalist and the number one ranked dressage horse in the world on the 1996 WBFSH dressage list.

Don Index’s first foal crop in 2012 was an excellent one. He produced the top selling foals of the 38th Hanoverian Elite Foal Auction, “Da Capo” and “Djordy” who were sold for 26,000 and 22,000 Euro respectively. With twelve foals in this Elite auction, Don Index was the most successful sire of the auction, and this was only a follow up to an excellent result for his offspring in the 2012 Spring Elite Auction. The director of the Landestüt Celle, Dr. Axel Brockmann, also found many top foals sired by Don Index on the inspection tours in Germany, and is excited about their potential.

Fame’s fam, Quintet was bought and imported in 2012 from Germany in foal to Royal Classic and has since produced a beautiful dark bay filly, Rivendell Royal Flush. She has since produced Rivendell Quickstep, Quickbeam, Qilin and Quebec.

Quintet is by the stallion Quaterback. This exceptional moving young stallion has already started his winning ways. Paired with the talented young rider, Christian Flamm of Hessen, Quaterback galloped away from the competition at the Bundeschampionates in 2006.

He started his stallion career by being named Champion of his licensing in Neustadt/Dosse in 2005. In 2006, after the Bundeschampionates, he went on to win his 30 day test at Neustadt/Dosse with outstanding scores. His pedigree is steeped in the traditions of the Brandenburgisches Landgestuet. His sire, Quaterman, was bred there and is by Quando-Quando , the excellent dressage competition stallion that Christy Oatley-Nist rides.

Quaterback’s career in sport and breeding has been exemplary, beginning in 1995 as a top colt at the Vechta auction, continuing to become the 1c Premium winner at the stallion approval and the undisputed winner at the stallion performance test with the highest possible score of 10 for character and willingness to perform, a score of 9.5 for rideability and a score of 9 for temperament, walk, trot and canter. Highlights in sport have been participation in the Bundeschampionat finals for 5 and 6 year old dressage horses, 5th place at the World Championships in the class for 6 year old dressage horses as well as 5th place at the Nürnberg Burgpokal 2003, prior to which he won the VTV Dressage Stallion of the Year Award.

With first places in international Grand Prix in 2004 and winning World Cup B finals in Dortmund, he was then nominated for the Olympic Games in Athens.

His off-spring are very popular because of their modern, noble looks, outstanding rideability and strong movements and they also have the good jumping ability his pedigree promises. All of these characteristics are impressively documented in the FN’s 2004 Predicted Breeding Valuestatistics.

He is by the significant stallion Quattro, whose bloodlines speak of great jumpers, yet also super movers with power and suspension. Quattro, himself, excelled in dressage, yet showed talent over fences. That sire line goes back to French blood through Galoubet, Alme Z, Ibrahim and Furioso xx.

Quattro was a French stallion with an outstanding performance record and off-spring to prove his qualities as a sire. With a score of more than 130, he finished his performance test in Medingen on 2 nd place. In 1994 he became the Reserve Champion Stallion at the Oldenburg approval. In the meanwhile he has been successful internationally at shows in Caen (FRA), Leeuwarden (NL), Berlin, Munich, Geneva (CH) and Moscow. Along with many State Premium mares, he has also sired 13 licensed sons so far and has supplied jumpers as well as dressage horses in series that have reached top international level, particularly Oliver Q under Ryuichi Obata for Japan at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004.

The dam line of Quaterback is a very well known and respected mare line in Brandenburg. His dam “Passionata” is by the Beach Boy son , “Brandenburger”, who made his performance as a jumper:

Brandenburger That sire line (Beach Boy) goes again to French blood through the stallion Zeus. On Brandenburger’s dam line comes the excellent Hanoverian stallin Wendekreis, admired for the excellent riding horses he produced.

Quaterback’s grand-dam is the famous mare Poesie by Brentano II. Poesie is best known for her Sandro Hit daughter, Poetin, and also the Sandro Hit sons , Samba Hits I, II, III and IV!

The list of accomplishments of these offspring is tremendous. So, in Quaterback, we have depth of pedigree of athletic, multi-talented individuals. Quarterback uses his body as nothing you have ever seen. He is the talk of the town in Germany, with movements that can only be described as incredibly supple, strong and uphill. He is a freshman sire, so I cannot give you any fertility particulars or foal reports. It will be interesting to see if he can reproduce his wonderful type and movement. He truly is charming. I suspect, from his strong pedigree, we will be seeing more little Quaterbacks around!

Quintet’s damsire is Wolkenstein II, one of the best sons of Weltmeyer. His famous sire, in combination with a prepotent dam line, has produced a stallion whose own performance record speaks for itself. Faultless character, extraordinary willingness to perform, tremendous presence and outstanding dressage and jumping ability are

abundant. The young Wolkenstein II is not only a great performer, he also passes on his outstanding talent for dressage and his tremendous presence to his offspring: In 1997 six sons out of his first crop were licensed in Verden, his son Welser became Reserve Champion. In 1998 his son Waterford became Champion Stallion at the licensing in Verden. In 1999 Waterford was also the impressive winner of the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf. In the same year another son, Wildest Dream, won the three-year-old riding horses (mares and geldings) classification at the Federal Championships of German Riding Horses in Warendorf. Wolkenstein II has produced 22 licensed sons of the highest quality.
