Rivendell Forever Young
Rivendell Forever Young
D.O.B 09/12/2025 – Finnick ( Finnigan x Don Index ) x Dageraad Blossem ( Sandreo x Landwind )
Rivendell Forever Young represents an exciting combination of established German Hanoverian and Dutch/KWPN dressage bloodlines, bringing together the influence of Floriscount, Don Schufro, Donnerhall, Don Index, Sandro Hit and Flemmingh.
The pedigree combines proven dressage breeding from both sides, with a concentration of bloodlines selected over generations for movement, rideability, athleticism and modern sport-horse type.
Forever Young is by Finnick, Rivendell Stud’s imported young Hanoverian stallion.
Finnick is by the Hanoverian stallion Finnigan, with Don Index appearing on the dam side of Finnick’s pedigree.
Finnigan is a licensed Hanoverian stallion by Floriscount out of Donna Rubina, whose sire is the internationally influential Don Schufro.
This gives Finnick access to several highly regarded German dressage families.
Finnigan — Floriscount × Don Schufro
Finnigan was born in 2013 and is a liver-chestnut Hanoverian stallion. His sire, Floriscount, brings the Florencio/Florestan line, while his dam Donna Rubina brings Don Schufro and Rubinstein blood.
The pedigree therefore combines several important dressage influences:
Floriscount → Florencio I → Florestan I
and
Don Schufro → Donnerhall
with Rubinstein also appearing further into Finnigan’s maternal pedigree.
Finnigan attracted attention at his Hanoverian licensing for the quality of his basic gaits. His pedigree is particularly interesting because it combines the Florestan line with the highly influential Donnerhall and Rubinstein dressage families.
The other major influence behind Finnick is Don Index, a black Hanoverian stallion born in 2007.
Don Index is:
Don Crusador × Wolkentanz I × Salvano
His pedigree therefore introduces another strong concentration of classic Hanoverian dressage blood.
Don Crusador descends through Don Bosco to Donnerhall, while Don Index’s maternal grandsire Wolkentanz I is a son of Weltmeyer.
Don Index won his 2010 stallion performance test at Adelheidsdorf, recording particularly strong results in the dressage component.
Consequently, the sire side of Forever Young combines the influence of:
Floriscount • Florencio I • Florestan I • Don Schufro • Donnerhall • Rubinstein • Don Index • Don Crusador • Wolkentanz I • Weltmeyer
It is a pedigree with a considerable concentration of established German dressage breeding.

Dam Line — Dageraad Blossem
Forever Young’s dam, Dageraad Blossem, provides a complementary Dutch/European dressage influence.
Blossem is by the KWPN stallion Sandreo, with Landwind behind the dam line.
Rivendell Stud describes Blossem as a mare originally acquired as a broodmare who was subsequently produced under saddle. Rivendell has also previously bred several offspring from Blossem, making her an established mare within the stud’s breeding programme.
Sandreo — Sandro Hit × Flemmingh
Sandreo is a KWPN stallion born in 2000.
His pedigree is:
Sandro Hit × Flemmingh × Ahorn
This is a particularly valuable component of Forever Young’s pedigree because it brings together two influential streams of European dressage breeding.
Sandreo’s sire Sandro Hit became World Champion for six-year-old dressage horses in 1999 and subsequently became an enormously influential dressage breeding stallion.
Sandreo’s maternal grandsire is Flemmingh, another important name in Dutch dressage breeding.
The official KWPN database records Sandreo as a dark-bay KWPN stallion by Sandro Hit out of Prettify, by Flemmingh.
Sandreo therefore introduces:
Sandro Hit → Sandro Song
combined with
Flemmingh → Lacapo
and a strong established KWPN maternal family.
Landwind Influence
Landwind adds another layer of Holsteiner blood to the maternal side.
The Holsteiner Landwind is recorded as a son of the enormously influential Landgraf I, whose sire was the Thoroughbred Ladykiller xx.
This introduces a different genetic component alongside the predominantly dressage-oriented Sandreo blood and adds further traditional German sport-horse breeding to the maternal pedigree.
The Pedigree Combination
The significance of Forever Young’s pedigree lies not simply in the individual names, but in the way the sire and dam lines have been combined.
On the sire side, Finnick provides a strongly Hanoverian/German dressage pedigree containing Floriscount, Florencio, Florestan, Don Schufro, Donnerhall, Rubinstein, Don Index, Don Crusador, Wolkentanz and Weltmeyer.
On the dam side, Dageraad Blossem introduces Sandreo and therefore the highly influential Sandro Hit and Flemmingh lines, together with the additional Holsteiner influence of Landwind/Landgraf I.
The resulting pedigree can be summarised as:

Breeding Perspective
On paper, Forever Young carries a notable concentration of established dressage blood while avoiding reliance on only one major sire line.
The Florestan/Floriscount, Donnerhall/Don Schufro, Weltmeyer, Sandro Hit and Flemmingh influences represent several of the major families that have shaped modern European dressage breeding.
The pedigree therefore gives Rivendell Forever Young a strong genetic foundation for a future dressage prospect.
As with any young horse, pedigree indicates genetic potential rather than guaranteeing eventual conformation, temperament, movement or sporting performance. Forever Young’s development and later performance will ultimately determine how successfully those bloodlines have combined.
